hey, everybody, nice to see you.
this is Michal, a new comer to this city. i like here and can speak 60% Chinese daily words. im very interested in Chinese culture, but have a confusion about Chinese word. Chinese people would like to use dragon quite often to say somebody is good. i heard from my friends that Chinese especially like to say their ancient kings as dragon, mean they are most powerful and talented men.
you know, in western culture, this word means evil and it's said to be a monster who kept a princess. that's not good. i guess it has a different meaning in Chinese character.
does anyone here to tell me more about this word? is it cultural difference makes it so?
thanx
Chinese Dragon 龙 is totally different from Western Dragon..that's mainly because of cultural difference..I think. If you want to learn more about Chinese Dragon and its culture, check this website out: http://www.chinatourguide.net/12_8.htm
