My wife is Chinese. We have been married nearly 3 years.

I have been in China on a Z visa, but it will expire soon and I will not be able to get a new visa through my work.

Does anyone know whether I am eligible for a visa because my wife is Chinese?

What kind of visa?

How do I apply for it?

Many thanks!

As far as being married to a Chinese citizen, being married gives you no added visa rights and no automatic rights of residence, except that you can apply for an L visa for the purpose of "visiting family", which gives you the chance of getting a 12 month issue.

This L visa can normally be renewed each year within China. Your other option is to apply for another type of visa, (ie. go back to your home country and apply for a Z), but ya, being married to a Chinese citizen (as far as I know) is not going to help that much. Good luck.
