Hi,

I am still new in China and I am curious if anyone can help me buy the train tickets. It is first Golden Week here and yesterday I went in train station to buy ticket to Beijing and they told me all sold out.  Is it possible? or do they just tell me because I am laowai?

Okay, if someone can help me buy a sleeping train tickets to Beijing I will be very happy, or maybe someone to tell me how is it hard seat .

Hey, we just try to suggest that the train station may actually sell out all tickets, for most people will get a short holiday for the Golden Week and would like to have a temporary journey from hard work. So you can book it in advance if you mean to rush among the crowds next time. As the show up mentioned by Lion lady, it should tire your trip. In the train, many many people just are around you and you would try to stand in the bumpy and narrow space. It’s really terrible.

Ya, I did the same thing. Train tickets are sold out. But they told me that I should just show up and see if I can get on a train. If someone doesn‘t show up, there is a possibility to get a seat. A hard seat is just what it sounds like. The train to Bejing takes about 9 hours, so if you don‘t mind 9 hours in a hard seat
